The place where verse 108 of Surah At-Tawbah was revealed

Verses 107-108 of Surah At-Tawbah were revealed about two different mosques: verse 107 concerns the 'Mosque of Dhirar' built by hypocrites for evil purposes, while verse 108 praises the Kuba Mosque. The meaning of verse 108: "The mosque built on the foundation of piety from the first day is certainly more deserving of your prayer. There are men who love to be purified; and Allah loves those who purify themselves." The narration regarding the revelation of this verse is as follows: Upon returning from the Battle of Tabuk, the Prophet Muhammad wanted to visit the Kuba Mosque; at that time, the hypocrites invited him to the Mosque of Dhirar. Subsequently, verses were revealed commanding the Prophet to go to the Kuba Mosque and informing him that it was the 'mosque built on piety.' The place within the Kuba Mosque where this verse was revealed has been marked with a special sign near the mihrab in later periods; visitors have been careful to pray at this point.
