The House of Kulsum b. Hidm

The House of Kulsum b. Hidm is a historical structure in Kubâ where the Prophet Muhammad stayed as a guest during his migration before arriving in Medina. Kulsum b. Hidm, from the Amr b. Avf clan of the Aws tribe, has gone down in history for the honor of hosting the Prophet Muhammad in his home.

Kulsum b. Hidm is a prominent Ansar companion from the Aws tribe of Kubâ. During the period when the Prophet Muhammad stayed in Kubâ for four to fourteen days during his migration, Kulsum b. Hidm's house was used as a shelter. Some narrations indicate that the land where the Kubâ Mosque was built is also located near this house or on part of its land. These two houses — the house of Kulsum b. Hidm (shelter) and the house of Sa'd b. Heyseme (gathering/meeting) — constituted the two main locations of the Prophet Muhammad's stay in Kubâ. Marking these two houses in close proximity on the map reveals a part of the historical fabric surrounding the Kubâ Mosque.
