Gadir Revava - Ghadeer Rawah - غدير رواوة‎

Gadir Revava represents a pit or stagnant water pool (gadir) located in one of the valleys surrounding Medina. The most important feature of this area is that it houses stone and rock inscriptions from the first two centuries of Islam. These inscriptions from the 1st and 2nd centuries of Hijra contain various Quranic verses, hadiths, and prayers carved into stones by the local people or travelers passing through the region. Such rock inscriptions (kitâbeler) are extremely valuable documents for the history of the Arabian Peninsula; they serve as primary sources in terms of both the history of writing and the religious and cultural life of the early periods of Islam.
