Verses about Beni Kaynuka

Benî Kaynukā' was one of the three Jewish tribes living in Medina at the dawn of Islam. They were exiled from Medina in the 2nd year of Hijra due to their violation of the Medina Charter (H. 1) and their humiliation of a Muslim woman in the Benî Kaynukā' market. Many verses were revealed in the context of this tribe's political stance and the general behavior of the Jewish community: **Verses 12-13 of Al-Imran Surah:** These verses contain a warning to the Jews after the victory of Badr. "Say: Those who disbelieve will soon be defeated and driven to hell." The vast majority of commentators say that these verses were revealed specifically for Benî Kaynukā' or for the Jews of Medina in general. **Verses 44-47 of Nisa Surah:** These verses address the behavior of the Jews, explaining that although they received their share from Allah's book, they preferred deviation over guidance. **Verses 15, 44-46, 70 of Maida Surah:** Topics such as the distortion of the Torah by the People of the Book, concealing the rulings in their own books, and their attitude towards the Prophet are discussed in these verses. The Maida Surah was revealed in the sixth year of Hijra after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah.
