The place where Hz. Hamza was martyred

During the Battle of Uhud (3 Shawwal / March 625 AD), when the Meccan army attacked the Muslim camp, Hz. Hamza was fighting with great energy on the battlefield. He was defeating every enemy that came before him; so much so that the companions later reported that pagan corpses were piled around him. Wahshi b. Harb, a slave of Jubayr b. Mut'im and a skilled spearman, had been specifically tasked with killing Hz. Hamza. Moreover, Hind bint Utbah had promised Wahshi a great reward for avenging her relatives who were killed at Badr. Wahshi hid behind a rock or bush, watching for an opportunity to strike Hz. Hamza. When Hz. Hamza was engaged in combat with an enemy, Wahshi seized the moment, threw his spear, and struck him in the left hip. Hz. Hamza fell to the ground. Later, Wahshi converted to Islam during the time of the Prophet; he recounted this event as follows: "I threw the spear, it hit him in the left hip, and passed through to the other side. He tried to come towards me, struggling; he fell. After I was sure he was dead, I went to him." The place where he was martyred is in the battlefield at the foot of Mount Uhud; his grave, located nearby, is now at the heart of the Uhud martyrdom site.
