Uhud Martyrdom 1

Uhud Martyrdom is one of the most sacred cemeteries in Islamic history. In the Battle of Uhud, which took place on 3 Shawwal / March 625, 70 Muslims were martyred and buried on the battlefield. The Prophet commanded that the martyrs be buried without being washed, in their own blood and clothes; for they would be resurrected on the Day of Judgment in this state. This practice is the main reason why the martyrs of Uhud are treated differently from other deceased. The most important grave in the martyrdom is that of Hz. Hamza; next to him are buried his cousin Abdullah b. Jahsh and other martyrs of Uhud. Mus'ab b. Umayr, Sa'd b. Rabi' and Hanzala b. Abi Amir are also among those buried in this martyrdom. During his time in Medina, the Prophet would occasionally visit the Uhud martyrdom and pray for them. This tradition of the Prophet has continued among Muslims to this day.
