History

After the Uhud Battle (H. 3/M. 625), this event occurred during a critical period when Muslims began to ask questions due to their defeat, and it is an important scene of the Jewish-Muslim tension in Medina. According to the narration, Finhas b. Azura, Zayd b. Qays, and a group of Jews said to Hz. Huzayfa b. el-Yemani and Hz. Ammar b. Yasir after the Uhud defeat: "If your prophet were a true prophet, you would not have been defeated. The people of Moses were never defeated like this." or they attempted to cast doubt on Islam and the Prophet in a similar manner. Hz. Huzayfa and Hz. Ammar conveyed these words to the Prophet. It is reported that the relevant verses were revealed afterward. This event demonstrates how the Jews used the Uhud defeat as a tool to question the reliability of Islam and how Muslims remained cautious against such provocative attempts. Hz. Huzayfa b. el-Yemani is a companion to whom the Prophet personally revealed the names of the hypocrites, earning him the title "the possessor of secrets" (sahibu's-sir). His vigilance against the Jews' attitude in this event aligns with this characteristic.
