The revelation of verses 52-54 of Al-An'am regarding Uyeyne, who opposed sitting with the poor

This incident is a historical scene that took place in the assembly of the Prophet Muhammad and was directly addressed by the Qur'an. When the leaders of the polytheists, Akra' b. Habis and Uyeyne b. Hisn, came to the assembly of the Prophet Muhammad, they found him sitting with poor and destitute Muslims like Bilal, Suheyb, Ammar, and Habbab. These polytheist leaders, who looked down on them, made the following suggestion: "O Muhammad! Remove these lower-class people from us for us to accept you." Upon this, verses 52-54 of Surah Al-An'am were revealed. Allah clearly commanded the Prophet Muhammad: "Do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure. You are not responsible for them, nor are they responsible for you, so that you should drive them away. If you did, you would be among the wrongdoers." (Al-An'am 6/52) This incident is one of the strongest confirmations of the understanding that rejects class distinction in Islam and values humanity not by wealth but by piety.
