The graves of Hz. Mücezzer b. Ziyad, Hz. Nu‘mân b. Mâlik (Kavkal), and Abde b. Hashas (stacked)

Seventy Muslims who were martyred in the Battle of Uhud were buried collectively on the battlefield. Due to a shortage of shrouding cloth, two or three people were placed in the same grave. The Prophet Muhammad ordered that whoever knew the Quran better should be buried first. Mücezzer b. Ziyâd b. Amr el-Belevî (d. 3/625): It is reported that his real name was Abdullah, and he was nicknamed "Mücezzer" (pruned tree) due to his short stature and stout build. He was a great companion who participated in the Battles of Badr and Uhud. Nu'mân b. Mâlik (Kavkal): This companion, known by the nickname "Kavkal," was also martyred in the Battle of Uhud. There are different accounts regarding the origin of his nickname. Abde b. Hashas: He is another one of the martyrs of Uhud.
