The Grave of the False Prophet Musaylimah and His Army

The Grave of the False Prophet Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab and His Army is a historical site in the Yamamah region where Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab, who opposed Islam by claiming prophethood, was killed by the Muslim army under the command of Khalid ibn al-Walid during the Battle of Akrabah in 12 AH / 633 CE.

Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab (d. 12/633) was one of the prominent members of the Hanifah tribe and claimed prophethood during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad. He wrote a letter saying, "I accept you as a partner in Yamamah," intending to share prophethood with the Prophet. The Prophet vehemently rejected this letter. Musaylimah gathered a large following by showing some so-called miracles. It is reported that he invented some false verses to support his claim of prophethood. After the death of the Prophet, Musaylimah grew stronger and formed a large force in the Yamamah region. He was killed in the Battle of Akrabah (12 AH / 633 CE) by the spear of Wahshi ibn Harb and the sword of Abu Dujanah. A large part of his army was also destroyed.
