The grave of Hz. Zayd b. Hattab

Zayd b. Hattab (d. 12/633) is the full brother of Hz. Omar; they have different mothers. He converted to Islam before Hz. Omar, thus becoming a pioneer in embracing Islam for his brother. He participated in many battles, including Badr, Uhud, and the Trench. It is reported that Hz. Omar said, "Zayd embraced Islam before me; I will never catch up to him in this regard." Zayd b. Hattab was martyred in the Battle of Akrabah (H. 12/M. 633) against the false prophet Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab during the Ridda Wars that broke out during Hz. Abu Bakr's caliphate.
