The grave of Hz. Abdullah b. Cubeyr

Abdullah b. Cübeyr b. en-Nu'mân el-Ensârî (d. 3/625) is from the Abdüleşhel branch of the Aws tribe. He was appointed as the commander of the archers by the Prophet Muhammad and was given a very clear order: 'Do not leave this hill whether we win or lose.' In the initial phase of the battle, when the Muslims gained the upper hand, most of the archers, deceived by the spoils, abandoned the hill. Abdullah b. Cübeyr tried to hold them back, insisting, 'Have you forgotten the Prophet's command?' However, only about fourteen men listened to him. Despite his orders, Abdullah b. Cübeyr remained in his place. When the pagan cavalry under the command of Khalid b. Walid surrounded the Muslims from behind by passing through the empty passage, Abdullah and his companions fought until they were martyred one by one. [Source: 'Abdullah b.
