Manaha

Manaha was the traditional commercial center of Medina and was actively functioning during the time of the Prophet Muhammad. This area, used as a marketplace, hosted a wide range of trade from livestock sales to food trade, from manufactured goods to souvenirs. The Prophet Muhammad placed great importance on trade ethics. By visiting the Manaha market, he would warn buyers and sellers; he prohibited cheating, deception, and swearing falsely. The hadith "Merchants will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment as sinners, except for those who are God-fearing, honest, and truthful" originates from this tradition. Manaha was also used as a place where incoming caravans would kneel their camels and rest. This feature reinforced Medina's role as a trade and transportation hub on the Hejaz route.
