Lot's Cave

Prophet Lot was commanded to leave the city with his family before his people were destroyed. There was one condition: no one was to look back. Lot's wife did not obey the command and was turned into a pillar of salt. Lot and his daughters were saved. The caves along the route they took during their escape are considered important reference points to narrate this historical story of the region. Although there is no direct reference in the Qur'an regarding the relationship between Lot's family and the cave, local traditions associate this cave with Prophet Lot.
