Khaybar Fortress -3- represents the third position in the Khaybar fortress complex, conquered in 7 AH / 628 CE. This area corresponds to one of the fortresses of Netah, Shiq, or Khaibar, and is part of the multi-faceted siege process of the Battle of Khaybar.

History

The Battle of Khaybar (7 AH / 628 CE) is the most comprehensive fortress siege operation in Islamic history. The fortress complex in Khaybar consisted of multiple independent fortresses, such as Naim, Kamus, Natat (Netah), Shiq, Khaibar, Watiḥ, and Sulalim. Each of these fortresses was besieged and conquered separately. Kamus was taken through the heroism of Hz. Ali; the other fortresses were conquered partly through war and partly through peace treaties. The Prophet Muhammad offered surrender before each stage of the battle. The Khaybar region is now referred to as 'Ash-Shuraif'; the historical fortress ruins welcome visitors approximately 165 km north of Medina. Importance and Narrations

Before approaching each fortress in the Battle of Khaybar, the Prophet Muhammad would say: "O Allah! You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the devils, and the Lord of the prophets. I ask You for the good of the inhabitants of this region."
