Hz. SABIT B. VAKŞ and Hz. Huseyl b. Cabir graves

Sâbit b. Vakş is from the Benî Abdüleşhel branch of the Aws tribe. The Prophet Muhammad sent some companions back due to their old age while heading to Uhud. Sâbit b. Vakş and Huseyl b. Câbir were among those sent back. When they heard the sounds of battle at Uhud, they said to each other: "We don't have much time left anyway. I swear by Allah that if we are not killed today, we will die tomorrow. So why shouldn't we go to the front; perhaps Allah will grant us martyrdom." With these words, both took their weapons and rushed to battle. Sâbit b. Vakş and Huseyl b. Câbir fell as martyrs at Uhud; however, there are different accounts regarding who killed them. According to one account, Huseyl was mistakenly killed by his own Mujahid friends, who thought he was a polytheist. Sâbit was martyred by the enemy. The courage and determination of these two elderly companions is one of the strongest examples that devotion to Islam is not limited by age.
