Gate No. 11 (Agate Gate)

The gates of the Prophet's Mosque have been systematically numbered during the modern expansion periods. Each gate is named after a historical companion, caliph, or Saudi ruler. The Agate Gate is named in reference to the blessed valley of Agate in Medina. The Prophet Muhammad said about Agate, 'It is a blessed valley.'
