Gate No. 10 (Imam Bukhari Gate)

The gates of the Prophet's Mosque have been systematically numbered during the modern expansion periods. Each gate takes its name from either a historical companion, a caliph, or a Saudi ruler. The Imam Bukhari Gate bears the name of the great hadith scholar Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari (810-870). Bukhari visited Medina multiple times and studied hadith from various teachers in the Prophet's Mosque.
