Gate No. 1 (Babusselam Gate)

The gates of the Prophet's Mosque have been systematically numbered during modern expansion periods. Each gate takes its name from either a historical companion, a caliph, or a Saudi ruler. Babusselam (Gate of Peace) is one of the main gates on the northern facade of the Prophet's Mosque. This gate, known by this name since the time of the Prophet Muhammad, has been renovated several times throughout history.
