El-Muazzam Ottoman Tabuk Train Station

The Hejaz Railway (1900-1908) was a massive Ottoman infrastructure project that extended from Damascus to Medina, reaching a total length of approximately 1,464 km. Numerous stations were built along this line in both large cities and small stopping points. El-Muazzam Station is one of these small stations located in the Muazzam area near Tabuk. These types of intermediate stations along the route served both passenger and pilgrimage caravans for resting and provided water and coal supplies for locomotives. During World War I, this section of the railway was damaged due to sabotage by T.E. Lawrence and Arab forces. El-Muazzam Station represents one of the preserved remnants of the Ottoman railway heritage in Hejaz.
