Abu Talha's horse and the terrifying sound at night

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this event as follows: The Prophet Muhammad was the most beautiful, the bravest, and the most generous of people. When there were various times of fear and noise at night in Medina, the Messenger of Allah would run to investigate the source of the danger before anyone else, assuring the companions, "There is nothing to fear!" In this particular event, a loud noise erupted in Medina at night. People were filled with fear. The Prophet Muhammad took Abu Talha's horse named Mendub without permission and set off quickly to investigate the source of the danger. Upon returning after investigating the situation, he told the companions, "Do not be afraid!" and then praised the horse's performance. According to some narrations, when the Messenger of Allah saw that there was no danger in a wide area resembling a sea that night, he said, "We found it to be a sea!" Abu Talha's horse Mendub had been known as an extremely timid and slow horse until that day. After the Prophet rode it that night, the horse completely changed; it became agile, fast, and brave. This situation is narrated as a fact that the Messenger of Allah expressed when returning the horse to its owner. This incident showcases not only the personal courage of the Prophet Muhammad but also his understanding of leadership. It reflects a leader profile who does not wait behind the ranks in a moment of danger but rather steps forward, reassuring people.
