Abu Bakr Siddiq (R.A.) Gate

Hz. Abu Bakr Abdullah b. Abi Quhafa al-Siddiq (d. 13/634) was the closest friend of the Prophet, his companion during the Hijra, and the first caliph of Islam. Living with deep devotion to the Prophet, Hz. Abu Bakr resided near the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. His house was close to the western side of the Hujra al-Saadah. Hz. Abu Bakr served as the imam after the Prophet in the Prophet's Mosque. When the Prophet passed away, Hz. Abu Bakr was the most respected imam in the mosque, leading prayers due to his illness. The Prophet also reminded that the door opening to Hz. Aisha's room in the Prophet's Mosque should not be closed: "Close all doors opening to the mosque; only leave Abu Bakr's door open." This incident has been interpreted as a sign that Hz. Abu Bakr was the most deserving person for the caliphate after the Prophet.
