Urwa ibn Zubayr Well

Urwa ibn Zubayr's estate in the Valley of Aqeeq was one of the most advanced agricultural lands of its time in terms of well and irrigation infrastructure. This well, which nourished the fertile soils of the valley, served as a source of drinking water and irrigation for both the family and guests. The wells around Medina held great practical and spiritual significance during the early Islamic period. The Prophet Muhammad blessed the wells in Medina with prayers; the companions also encouraged the digging and endowment of wells. In addition to being a great scholar, Urwa ibn Zubayr was also successful in agriculture and property management. His estate in Aqeeq served both as a source of income and a place for scholarly gatherings. The well was an integral part of this estate; it contributed to the irrigation of the surrounding gardens.
