Ranuna Valley Dam (sed)

Ranuna Valley is located on the historic route to Medina, just north of the Kuba Mosque. When the Prophet Muhammad stopped in Kuba during his migration from Mecca and set out, he arrived at Ranuna Valley at noon and led the first Friday prayer in Islamic history at this place belonging to the sons of Salim b. Awf. The historical significance of Ranuna Valley is carried to the present day with the Friday Mosque (Masjid-i Vadi Ranuna) built on it. In modern times, a dam structure has been built at a specific point in Ranuna Valley to direct floodwaters and manage water resources.
