MapHistory
The doors of the Prophet's Mosque have been systematically numbered during the modern expansion periods. Each gate is named after either a historical companion, a caliph, or a Saudi ruler. The Bedir Gate is named in reference to the Battle of Badr, which took place in 624 AD and marked the first major victory of the Muslims.
