Sukya Mosque

Sukya Mosque is located southwest of Medina, at the starting point of the Badr route. Ibn Zebâle is one of the oldest sources that narrates the history of this mosque and its connection to the Prophet Muhammad. On the 2nd of Ramadan in the year 2 AH / March 624 CE, the Prophet Muhammad set out for Badr with approximately 313 companions. A stop was made at Sukya before leaving Medina or immediately after departing. The Prophet inspected the army here; he sent back some young companions due to age limits. According to narrations, he prayed for the blessing of the weighing and measuring tools here; he wished for the local people to prosper. The Prophet prayed in the mosque at this location. According to Ibn Zebâle, the Prophet also used this point on his return from Badr; the news of the victory at Badr was also announced here to Medina.
