Newly Built Hendek Mosque

The Seven Mosques region attracts a large number of visitors due to its historical significance as the site of the Battle of Hendek. Historical sources mention six mosques, some of which have been demolished in recent times. According to reports prepared by the Medina Awqaf and Mosques Administration in 1989 and 1992, only the Fetih Mosque and the Selmân-ı Fârisî Mosque remain standing from the six mosques. After the demolition of the historical mosques, a new mosque has been built in the area to serve the region. This mosque is designed to commemorate the Battle of Hendek and meet the worship needs of visitors. Today, the area is open to visitors with three main structures: the Fetih Mosque, the Selmân-ı Fârisî Mosque, and this new mosque. This area at the foot of Sel' Mountain continues to be a sacred place where millions of pilgrims visit each year and feel the history of Hendek.
