Musabbah Mosque - Beni Üneyf

Musabbah Mosque (Beni Üneyf Mosque) was built at the historical site where the Prophet Muhammad first stayed when he migrated to Medina, arriving in the morning and performing his first prayer there. The word 'Musabbah' means 'place of morning' in Arabic and is related to the Prophet's arrival in Medina in the morning.

History

The migration to Medina (622 AD) is one of the most important turning points in Islamic history. After hiding for three days in the Cave of Thawr, the Prophet Muhammad and Abu Bakr set out towards Medina, following a little-known safe route near the Red Sea, led by their guide Abdullah ibn Urayqit. After a long journey, they arrived in Medina in the morning. They stayed at the point where the Prophet first entered Medina, in the Beni Üneyf neighborhood. He prayed at this morning stop; over time, this stop became known as 'Musabbah' (place of morning). At this historic moment of entering Medina, the people of Medina were filled with great joy: children, women, and the elderly took to the streets, shouting, 'Muhammad Mustafa has come!' Every tribe was competing to invite the Prophet to their home. The Musabbah Mosque, the first stop of this historic entry, symbolizes the moment of the beginning of the migration.
