Muarras Mosque

Muarras Mosque is located in the Zulhuleyfe area, approximately 5-6 km from Medina. Historically, Zulhuleyfe holds great significance as it is the miqat point where pilgrims from Medina enter into ihram on their way to Mecca. When the Prophet Muhammad traveled from Medina to Zulhuleyfe during his Hajj and Umrah journeys, he stayed here, spent the night, and performed the Fajr prayer. According to narration, while the Prophet was sleeping here one night, he was called: "You are in a blessed valley." This message indicates the blessing and sanctity of the Muarras site. In some narrations, it is mentioned that the rites of Hajj were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad at this location or nearby. According to what Bukhari narrated, while the Prophet was sleeping in this valley, he was told: "You are in Batn al-Aqiq (in the Muarras valley); this is a blessed valley." Based on this narration, the sanctity of the place was emphasized, and a mosque was built here. Although Muarras Mosque is located quite close to the Prophet's Mosque, it is within or very near the boundaries of the Zulhuleyfe miqat.
