Minareteyn (Dinar - Hadr) Mosque

The two minarets that give the mosque its name are named Dinar and Hadr; the Ahmer Mountain is located in the area between them. When the Prophet Muhammad arrived at this point, he encountered the carcass of a dead sheep without ears on the way. Turning to his companions, he said: 'This sheep was worthless to its owner, wasn't it?' When the companions replied 'Yes', the Prophet Muhammad said: 'In the sight of Allah, the world is more worthless than the value of this dead sheep to its owner.' Based on this narration, the mosque area has become a symbolic place of asceticism and contentment against worldly possessions. The Prophet Muhammad's concrete teaching methods like this represent one of the most effective expressions of Islamic moral understanding.
