Beni Abduleşhel (Vâkım/ Hz.Sa‘d b. Muâz’ın Evi ve Karasa) Mosque

Benî Abdüleşhel is one of the most important branches of the Aws tribe in Medina. The greatest figures of this tribe are Sa'd b. Muâz and Üseyd b. Hudayr. Sa'd b. Muâz is recorded in history as a martyr in the Battle of the Trench and as the companion whose 'Throne of the Most Merciful trembled.' Ibn Zebâle (d. 199/814) narrates the following regarding the Benî Abdüleşhel Mosque: It has been reported that Ummu Âmir said: "I saw the Prophet Muhammad in the Benî Abdüleşhel mosque in a state of perspiration; he stood up and prayed without performing ablution." This narration is interpreted in reference to the situations where the Prophet's state of ablution was not invalidated or he was already in a state of ablution. The house of Sa'd b. Muâz was located close to this mosque. The neighborhood of Benî Abdüleşhel, where Sa'd b. Muâz was also buried, holds an important place in the political and religious history of Medina.
