Ayneyn Mosque - Masjid Ainain - مسجد عينين‎

Ayneyn Hill is a small hill rising at a strategic point south of Mount Uhud, aimed at protecting the left flank of the Muslim army. The Prophet Muhammad stationed fifty archers under the command of Abdullah b. Jubeir on this hill and gave a strict order: "Do not leave your position whether we achieve victory or face defeat." Before the battle, the Prophet prayed on or near this hill; over time, this point began to be referred to as Ayneyn Mosque. During the battle, most of the archers left their position, deceived by the spoils; this mistake led Khalid b. Walid's cavalry to encircle the Muslims by passing through the unguarded passage, changing the course of the battle. This painful lesson is taught as one of the most striking examples in Islamic history regarding the importance of obedience and adherence to commands.
